The elders in the family would go to the temples and spend time listening to the devotional songs and Krishna bhajans. Sat Sangs are also held. Prior to all the celebrations, Ratri Jagran (night vigil) is done by the family. It is such an amazing time where all the family members, relatives, and close ones come together and wait for midnight to arrive. Many people keep fast as well. With bated breath, young and old, both wait for the time when Lord Krishna was born. Many devotional songs are sung together, reminding the great story that stirs the emotions.
